Our Success Stories

The Dream Society loves to make dreams come true with all our programs. So far we've had the opportunity to improve the lives of the following "Dreamers" by giving them the gift of independence in one way or another.

Our first and most successful story comes from our Dream Pals Program. Earlier in the year we met Megan, 13. Megan has Cerebral Palsy and was in need of a really good "pal." We were able to match Megan with Katy who is now Megan's Dream Pal. Due to this match Megan is flourishing in school and daily activities. We love matching Dream Pals!

Our second story comes from a 10 year old in Wesley Chapel. Angelica, who has a myriad of challenges including Spina Bifida, came to us with the dream of a beach wheelchair. Angelica's challenges were making it difficult for her to enjoy visits to the beach with her family. Fortunately the Dream Society was able to assist Angelica and her family in receiving this much needed equipment to enjoy the beach again. Enjoy the beach Angelica! Please see photo on our Dream Request page.

We were able to grant a dream for a wonderful paraplegic single mom. Linda needed a computer to finish her GED and work from home. Luckily we were able to get computers donated to give one to Linda. She can now work on her GED and work from home due this wonderful donation.

For most the Dream of a modified vehicle is just a dream, but for 14 year old Celina it's a dream that came true. Due to a local donor we were able to grant Celina and her family with a modified van to get her around. The vehicle is a huge help to her and the entire family.

Recently, a fairly new power chair was donated by another local couple. Due to this donation we were able to assist a 34 year old woman desperately in need of a new power chair. Amy is so happy to be in a chair that fits all of her needs now.

We were lucky enough to be able to grant the dream of a lift for 4 year old Addison. Addison was in need of a lift to enable his family to take his power chair out with him. He now has the gift of independence.

A wonderful lady came to us with the need to drive again. Joyce is 65 years old and a paraplegic for 5 years now. We were able to get her hand controls to regain the ability to drive. Joyce is an active lady with the strength and determination to move mountains. We are so happy to help her move more mountains!

Many times wonderful people in our community donate durable medical equipment, such as wheelchairs, scooters, walkers. We can always find a deserving person to donate these to in our community. Dream Society had a patient recently referred by hospice in need of a power chair to replace his broken one in his last days. Luckily through donations we were able to provide new batteries for a wheelchair that had been donated and passed it on to him.

If you'd like to assist us in making more dreams come true, please visit our volunteer page or donate to our cause through on of the many ways on our donate page. We love making Dreams come true!
